Hi there, no problems ask away. No I didn't get sick at all with Otezla, as a matter of fact I didn't experience any of the physical side effects. The thing I mentioned was to keep an eye out for moods. I describe it as "melancholy" or tendency to "over think" or "get caught up in your thoughts", if that makes sense. I know other people have described it as a "fog". What I would say for me though is that the benefits of Otezla to clearing my skin far far outweighed those negatives. Otezla worked for me all up 3 years. Hope this helps.

Howdy. Ilumya is one of the new class of biologics that targets IL-23 in the immune system, though very effective there is just no long term history to prove longevity. In saying that the Ilumya website does state that “ 9 out of 10 people who had much clearer skin after 1 year still had clearer skin after 3 years of treatment” (source : https://www.ilumya.com/skin-clearance#).

Hey SkinDeep + Barbara. I can see my last post on this one was 4 years back (wow time flies), and Barbara hope your treatment is still working. So 3 years in and Otezla was not successful here in Australia to make it to our 'PBS' scheme (Government funded under our Medicare), the trial came to an end by Celgene and meant I had to self fund, and the monthly cost was way high. Coincidently same time, I felt that my P was assimilating to Otezla and it was 1 step forward, 2 back with flares. I'm a year and a bit off Otezla now and was successful to join program by SunPharma for biologic 'Ilymna' which was suitable for me and I've been doing very well. I take all standard CV19 precautions like everyone else (wear a mask, social distance, wash hands etc) and I'm fine.

I've been using it for 15 months now. Did fantastic for my skin but not as much for joint pain. Currently taking it with naprosyn & tylenol but still have painful joints. I think we'll try adding something different in the next month or so until we get the right cocktail.
