I'm currently having puva treatment and find that taking an anti histamine tablet before bed reduces the itch and helps me sleep. I was also advised to moisturise more than usual perhaps 3-4 times a day if possible.

After 1000 MJ of NUVB I itched very bad. Dr. proscribed TAC (Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream) and it worked. I put it on after a treatment and twice a day after that. It has been a life saver. I'm now up to almost 3000 MJ and the TAC is still working. Here in the States it is $45 for a 1# tub. It lasts me 4 weeks. Cheaper than all the creams I tried on my own. I tried anti histamines but felt drugged the next day. I run a house hold and can't be in La La land.

The first time I had UV light treatment I burned from neck to knees ...looked like a sunburn and I itched. When I shared how the first treatment went the Dr backed off the 2nd treatment to 15 sec and progressed me in smaller steps as I am very sensitive. After that I never itched as badly as the first time. I did a little but it wasn't as bad.

You might try an anti-histamine eg. Benadryl. I had to discontinue UV treatment because it made me very very itchy.

I use Eucerin skin calming lotion. It helps to reduce the itch & pain, but I don't receive UV. Check with your Dr as to what you can use with the UV treatment.
