Humira Losing Effectiveness

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Manchester, NH

I have been on Humira for about 8 months. At the start it worked well, but for the past 2 months I have had flare ups. Has anyone else had the problem of a biologic that has stopped working? If so, what do you think caused it?
I'm seeing my Derm this week. I hope I can get some answers.

You just have to try them all to find the one that works for your body, I tried Enbrel, Humira, Remicade infusions and Stelara, but only Taltz has worked for six years for me!!

Some Humira patients actually form antibodies against the drug. Your rheumatologist can run a humira antibody blood test to see if that is why you are no longer responding to it.

Just some quick facts: Our immune systems are screwed up. Biologic medications work on and against our immune systems. Nothing is going to work forever if our disease process is severe enough. Coming off a biologic almost ensures that it will not work as well if at all when you return to it months later. We are individuals and nothing works for all of us.
This also could be considered a summary of all the comments above. God's blessings to you and yours.

Biologics ARE NOT poison.
Humira wasn't perfect, but did the trick for me for 10 yrs.
My doc knows of it helping person's for 20+yrs.
I'm switching to Rinvoq imminently.
Fingers crossed.

I've paid only a few hundred dollars annually for a couple of years as part of a deductible.
98% of the time I paid nothing.
Abbvie assist/Humira Complete programs work.
If you're still working you pay as little as $5 monthly, after your ins. deductible.
Humira Complete can refund your deductible under certain income limits.

I couldn't use it from the start. It makes me itchy and feel like ants are crawling all over me. That's one of the things that is hardest about this disease... nothing works for us all and nothing works forever.
