My right foot hurts on top where the toes attach. It is not constant but is bad occasionally. Its not a burning it jus pain. The toe next to my pinky on the left foot is extreamy painful. It helps to rub it some. It is not hot or red just very painful.

How do i know of this is psa related or something else

It is hard to sort out foot pain. I wish that I had a good answer for you, but it seems like in my own case it has mostly been experience over time plus a lot of opinions from doctors (who often disagreed with each other). Have you had your uric acid tested? Sometimes uric acid can be really high in folks with psoriasis and that can cause gout (including kinda atypical kinds). What I've usually noticed (for myself) is that it is psoriatic arthritis if it is on one side, not super red, extremely painful, has a bee sting kinda pain, seems ligament related when I move, and doesn't get better through use. Fibromyalgia pain (for me) usually has no swelling or redness, a "heavy" feeling, numbness in other toes or parts of my feet, gets better with use, and can also feel a lot like a foot that has fallen asleep and is being moved. Gout (for me) involves profound swelling and redness, massive itching from stretched skin, and pain that is off the charts. It is one of the only types of pain that makes me cry. You'll come up with your own cheat sheet over time, but in the meantime I'd consult with your rheumatologist if you have access.

Hi Nanette, I used to suffer from plantar fascitis but haven't had any trouble from it now that I'm in biologics. What I do have is throbbing pain on the top right side of my right foot. No idea why, but it's gotta be the PsA. It hurts badly if I drive too much or if I'm on my feet a lot during the day. Super painful at night. Plan to ask my rheumatologist next time.

Before treatment with biologics I had
" sausage" toes. The toes were swollen up and looked like link sausage. Definitely a Psa thing. Happened to my dominate hand as well. Biologics helped tremendously .

I have the same pain, after an X-ray my podiatrist said my tendon,by my ankle is trapped.I find tracing the pain, along the nerve, back to the ankle and massaging actually alleviates the pain.Try Voltaran along that nerve.
