I Cannot Find A Medication That The Side Effects Are Not Real Scary.
I have trouble getting the Doctors to talk with me about meds. They just give me a prescription and expect me to take it. I have Psoriasis all over my body and Psoriatic Arthritis. My nails are also a mess.
You look up every med you're given and you have a right to decide if you want to take it....look at benefits vs the risks/side effects....just Google any medicine and your info will be there....
Thank you. You gave me some good advice and I will sure give it some thought. I already feel better about trying some of the meds. My doctor is not one to council with me. I have a good pharmacist though and I had not thought of talking to her. Thanks again
Medications side effects (SE) are possibilities and not guarantees so anything we take from tylenol on is a balancing act. Most SE are reversible with some words of caution. Starting a biologic and interrupting therapy can mean that restarting is a crap shoot as to whether or not it will work the next time. That said, read, research and find the safest medium that works for you. Talk to your doctor about your fears and ask them for resources for further good research. Talk to your pharmacist. Then monitor closely for the first six months you commit to a treatment and talk to your doctor's office if anything weird comes up or at least to your pharmacist. It is worth the effort to find a solution.
The side effects are scary. You have to ask yourself how your quality of life is without meds.
It can be challenging to find a medication without concerning side effects. Here are some points to consider based on the knowledge base:
