Any Medicare advantage plan will not cover the expensive treatments especially infusions. I learned the hard way. You'll need a supplemental plan with your Medicare.

Here is detailed information on Medicare support for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis based on my knowledge base:

Medicare Support for Psoriasis:
- Biologic Treatments:
- Medicare Part B: Covers biologic drugs administered through injection or IV infusion at a doctor’s office or clinic. These treatments are typically used for moderate to severe psoriasis.
- Enrollment: People in the U.S. who are 65 or older can enroll in Medicare during the open enrollment period (Oct. 15 - Dec. 7 each year).

- Telemedicine:
- Access: During the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions were lifted to allow easier access to telemedicine services for those using Medicare. Telemedicine costs are generally the same as in-person services, with the Medicare Part B deductible applying.

- Secondary Insurance:
- Coverage: If Medicare does not cover the full cost of biologic treatments, secondary insurance plans (e.g., commercial plans, Veterans Affairs benefits, employer-based plans) may help cover additional costs.

- Financial Assistance:
- Drug Manufacturers: People under 65 who do not qualify for Medicare may get financial assistance from biologic manufacturers. More information is available on specific drug and treatment websites.

Tips for Navigating Medicare:
- Biologics Coordinator: Inquire about a staff biologics coordinator when selecting a healthcare team.
- Open Enrollment: Factor biologics into your coverage plan during Medicare's open enrollment period.
- Financial Assistance Programs: Look into programs like Simplefill or NeedyMeds for prescription assistance.

Additional Resources:
- National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF): Provides resources to help navigate the enrollment process for commercial insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare.
