It depends on you. In 8 years I have done Embrel, Cosyntex, Hummari, Talzt (useless), Tremfya. I was just switched to RINVOQ.

The possible side effects to your immune system are something you'll have to decide about. Talk to your doctor. When I was first diagnosed and had just had surgery for prostate cancer and the doc did not want to use biologics. I started on Otezalla but after a year my arthritis was so bad we went to a biologic. I had long discussions with him about it and the latest resource did not indicate it would be a risk for a cancer survivor.

The latest research on do they have a chance to cause lymphoma as they are black boxed for is unsure. From a long-term study they are now thinking that chronic inflammation from autoimmune diseases such as PsA, RA, and even diabetes may be more of a factor than the biologics.

It comes down to how much pain are you willing to put up with,

Thanks so much for your answer. For a while I’ve been able to tolerate the pain but it’s to the point where I need to do some thing different. Pain annd fatigue are making it very difficult to get through the day I have been taking Celebrex and now my doctor is suggesting Skyrizi. He thought the safety profile on this biologic was a little better than some others. I am concerned about the side effects, but there is not much else out there. I guess I am at that point.
Hope you are doing well on the Rinvoq.

I've stayed away from biologics because they affect the immune system.

When I was first diagnosed over 20 years ago- my-then Rheumatologist looked at my fingernails and knew it was psa - started Humira self-injections every 2 weeks. Worked great - until I decided to take myself off it(see my story - BAD decision!). My new rheumatologist started me on Remicade infusions every 6 weeks. Now on higher dose of Inflectra(bio similar to Remicade) every 8 weeks. Been about 4 years now. Good luck with your PSA journey.

I had patches of psoriasis three years ago that the doctor told me was exema. I do not have patches of psoriasis anywhere but I do have plaque psoriasis underneath all of my fingernails. Which has proven to be extremely difficult to get rid of. I just had my second loading dose of skyrizzi last month. My next dose is not until august but I have seen no improvement.
