Loading doses and maintenance doses are terms used in the context of biologic treatments for psoriasis.

- Loading Dose: This refers to an increased dose given at the start of treatment to quickly reach a steady concentration of the medication in the body. This helps achieve faster therapeutic results. For example, biologics may be administered in higher doses initially and then tapered down over time.

- Maintenance Dose: After the initial loading dose, the medication is given at regular intervals to maintain its effectiveness. The frequency of these doses can vary depending on the specific biologic drug. Some may be administered every four weeks, eight weeks, or even every 12 weeks.

It's important to discuss the specific schedule and dosing with your doctor to ensure adherence to the prescribed treatment plan.

Loading dose is probably the first month that you take it….usually it’s like 2 injections the first month and then 1 each month afterwards or however many times they recommend for the maintenance doses.
