Hello. I have been on Otezla for 3-4 years now. The symptoms you are currently having are those listed as temporary side effects. I have found that Otezla has worked well for me. Although, I do watch what I eat and try to eat a lot of fruits and veggies, not a lot of red meat, mostly chicken. I do follow an organic diet, as much as possible, grass-fed meats, etc. I do very little dairy, maybe cheese on a salad. I watch my gluten and alcohol consumption, I find that this can be an issue. Sweets ramp up any inflammation as well. Otezla has been working well for my joints, except I recently have had an issue of osteoarthritis in my right/left knees. I have been treating them with Euflexxa shots. I have been getting back into working out, which is a balancing act all its own as to not overdue. Give the Otezla a shot, if you can work through the side effects that should go away with time. Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon.

It sounds like you're having a tough time with your new medication. Here are some key points from the knowledge base that might help:

- Side Effects: Some medications for Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) can cause side effects, ranging from nausea and headaches to more severe issues. It's important to discuss these with your doctor, as some side effects may lessen over time, while others may not ([source](https://www.mypsoriasisteam.com/resources/4-sig...)).

- Communication: Open communication with your doctor is crucial. Share any improvements or lack thereof, and any challenges you're facing with the new treatment ([source](https://www.mypsoriasisteam.com/resources/4-sig...)).

- Be Kind to Yourself: It's important to stay positive and find what works for you. If something isn't working, do your research and try something else. Keep pushing through, and be gentle with yourself ([source](https://www.mypsoriasisteam.com/resources/livin...)).

If you're experiencing intolerable side effects, it might be worth discussing alternative treatments with your healthcare provider.

I was diagnosed with RA approx. 11 yrs ago. I tried to control it with diet and excercise, unfortunately the joint pain worsened in my right knee and then left wrist. I gave in to the medication as I didn't want to fall apart a joint at a time. I was on Humira recently and it caused the psoriasis. So now my Rheum. is saying I have psoriatic arthritis. Questioning this since as soon as I quit taking the Humira the psoriasis (just had the itchy head) went away. Obviously caused by the Humira. She then put me on the Otezla and the stomach issues have been very unpleasant. I have a history of reflux, so concerned this will just exacerbate it. My joints are my issue, not psoriasis. Concerned I am being treated appropriately. Still follow a diet to help with the inflammation.
