So Far I Have Only Use Topical For Psoriasis. What Is The Longest Time Someone Been On More Powerful Med Like DMARD Or Biological?
Exhibiting signs of psoriatic arthritis. Thinking of seeing a rheumatologist. Worry about the powerful medication and side effects.
Sunny3, I was diagnosed with PSA in 2000 and initially treated with steroids ( lots of side effects there). In 2010, my Rheumatologist wanted me to start on Enbrel and I was really frightened and even in tears…. I started Enbrel and it was amazing….had major relief for over 5 years and no problems. Then it stopped working so I went thru Humira, Cosentyx and Cimzia, some didn’t help much and Cimzia helped but stopped working before I was due for the next injection. This Rheumatologist started me on Xeljanz which is a JAK inhibitor and a tablet so once again, I was apprehensive but I’ve been on it for about 4 years and it is still working.
So to answer your question …. 14 years and no problems. I respect both those who are taking meds in order to alleviate symptoms and those who try alternative methods… It’s a very personal decision and for me…the alternative methods did not work and this is the only way I have been able to function…
Wish you the best with whatever you decide…

Hello, I have had psoriatic arthritis for years and I spoke to my Rhymatologist about medicines. After reading the side effects I talked to him about Holistic treatments.
I have had good luck with a palm oil soap for my skin patches, and Dove shampoo n conditioner for itchy scalp.
I've changed my diet and am only talking a medicine for severe itching as needed.
Talk to a Dr and see what your options are.
My hip symptoms are getting worse so I may have to add a med for that. Someday I can nearly walk. Talk to your Dr. Its a conversation you need to have.
Switch From Cosentyx To Taltz
Has Anyone Able To Get Biological Meds Thru Medicare Part D The Cost Out Pocket For Me They Want 3000.00 A Month
