Yikes. Do you also have psoriasis? Most of the medications that work for one will help the other. Can you get in to see a dermatologist? Good luck!

It can be incredibly frustrating and challenging when you're in pain and unable to see a specialist quickly. Here are a few steps you can take:

1. Communicate with Your Primary Care Provider: Explain your situation and symptoms to your primary care doctor. They might be able to manage your symptoms or provide interim care until you can see a rheumatologist.

2. Ask for a Waiting List: Contact the rheumatologist's office to ask if they have a cancellation list that you could be added to, which might get you an appointment sooner.

3. Seek Urgent Care if Necessary: If your symptoms severely worsen, consider visiting an urgent care center or emergency room. They can provide immediate treatment and potentially expedite a referral to a rheumatologist.

4. Explore Telemedicine: Some rheumatologists might offer telemedicine appointments, which can be an alternative way to get a consultation sooner.

5. Stay Informed and Prepared: Keep a detailed journal of your symptoms and any treatments or medications you’ve tried. This information can be very helpful to your healthcare providers.

Remember, it's important to advocate for your health and persist in seeking the care you need.
