Has Anyone Used Cosentyx Long-term And Then Had Problems (side-effects Or Stops Working) With It?

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Seattle, WA

Cosentyx seems to be working for me at 4 months. Methotrexate did NOT help PsA after a year, but it did clear my skin psoriasis.
So, Doc added Cosentyx.
I have PsA in my hands and feet, and tendon pain (enthesitis) that moves around. I'm wondering how long this "holiday" might last.

Thank you for telling about your experience. Did you find anything that did help your PsA?
I've been reading on PubMed and NIH about studies using "combination therapy," mostly in other countries, which keep patient registries where they can see how a wide group of patients did on different meds. (They strip out the names and patient ID #s, just the medical histories are documented.)
Some PsA patients did well on a biologic, (IL-17 or Il-23 inhibitor) plus a TNF inhibitor, others tried 2 biologics. Some patients had serious "adverse events," but others did not.

I was on Cosentyx for about a year it helped to somewhat control the psoriasis but for psoriatic arthritis it didn't help. Even being on 2 injections a month. Luckily I did not experience any side effects

I held out for a very long time, but it's no life if you can't move without pain. We'll see where this journey goes.

Unfortunately, the biologics I have been on haven't helped. Medications don't help either. I have been on methotrexate as well but no help either. My fingers hurt bad and the only thing that calms it down is soaking them in warm water and sometimes also using epsom salt but it is only temporary maybe about 20- 30 minutes and pain comes back.
