Medicated And Over The Counter Shampoos, Nothings Helping.

I have plaque psoriasis for almost 10 years now. Removing the scales myself and it grows back overnight and also liquid from where the scales were removed is coming outta my scalp. It hurts to even move my head. One thing I believed helped was the UV light from a tanning bed.

I second the clobetasol recommendation. I dont get plaques on my scalp, just dry, itchy spots but the clobetasol works really well to calm the itching when I have a flare.

If you have a dermatologist, ask for Clobetasol Solution unlike the ointment it is liquid and helps plaques (it is prescription and it is a steroid liquid) also shampoos with tea tree oil have helped, or Apple Cider Vinegar. Hope you find something that helps 🙏🏼

If medicated and over-the-counter shampoos aren't helping with your scalp psoriasis, consider the following tips:

1. Rotate Shampoos: Use a few different shampoos with ingredients like coal tar, salicylic acid, or selenium sulfide to prevent your scalp from getting used to one.
2. Application Time: Allow shampoos to absorb for several minutes before rinsing. In some cases, applying the shampoo 20 minutes before showering can be beneficial.
3. Healthy Lifestyle: Maintain a healthy diet and balanced body weight.
4. Avoid Harsh Products: Steer clear of cleansers and body products with fragrances.

If these strategies don't help, consult your dermatologist for further advice.
