I Would Like To Hear About Folks Experience With Methotrexate.
I took it in addition to my Taltz that was not working so well. But after 6 months I had to stop as my hair was falling out. Good Luck.
I was on it for a year with no problems before I had to stop taking it due to major surgery (my surgeon made me stop). After a lengthy recovery (4 months) I started taking it again and now I feel terrible the day of the shot as well as the whole next day. Nausea, tiredness, dizziness and an overall feeling of being unwell. My drs want me to stay on it for the full 3 months it takes to really get in your system before we try something else.
Hi Deborah733. I have been asking this Question for a bit while doing the Q&A... I can't find it though. The answers that I get are various-some good/some bad. Just the general run-of-the mill adverse reactions. I'm not taking it.... yet... also, I have been told that a Methotrexate is like taking Four [4] Motrin. It's just designed differently than Your Regular anti-Inflammatory drug [It's just 1 pill]. Your best bet would be to check the Youtube for Reviews on the Methotrexate-I've seen quite a few. Here's one that I really like: https://youtu.be/Ksil9wI2a7E
-It says it takes 12 weeks for it to start working.. lol. I don't know about that.😆
Enjoy!

I’ve been on MTX off & on since 2001, when I mistakenly diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I didn’t have any problems with it except mouth sores. Since restarting it in 2016 I’ve noticed that the day of & sometimes (usually) the day after I’m not feeling as well as I usually do-extra tired, no energy, occasional nausea. I’m on the max dosage. I’ve friend a couple other DMARDS, but either didn’t tolerate them or was allergic (I’m the typical redhead, lots of allergies!). An explanation for why I was off & in the MTX between 2006-20016 was I was busy having surgeries (22 of them!) after a near fatal car accident that involved a semi-truck.
I hope this helps. The mouth sores can be very bothersome but I’ve found that the longer I can go without an interruption the less I’m bothered by them. The fatigue & the rest of it usually happens. My sister & daughter are the same way with their MTX side effects. Might just be a family “thing”.
