Severe Psoriasis

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭
Roanoke, VA

Hi All,
I have been diagnosed with severe psoriasis and I have about 50% of my skin affected. While I am awaiting my biological treatment the itching has been unbearable and disruptive. Can someone please recommend from experience a topical/oral or natural treatment for the itching? I have tried so many but none is work. Thank you!
Mark

I have read somewhere maybe even here that allergy medication might help with the itching.. Not if this helps but thought I would mention it. Cheers

Hi! have you tried Otezla? it really worked for me when I was about that bad. For itching I would use calcipotriene cream. It makes the lesions smoother and not as scaly. Hope it helps. It will get better hang in there!

Hmmmmm, Hi MarkS...... a word to the wise about using anything on the Skin, don't do it-go all natural. Trust Me! The Ingredients may be great for the next Customer but ..... they might - not - be that Healthy for Us. Do U have a Dermatologist?

I don't know of any food allergies although I am sensitive to milk. I limit my milk intake to coffee or cereal if I run out of almond milk. The only thing that has made my condition way worse was the covid vaccine. I suspect the Moderna vax. It was my third and forth shot. The previous two were Pfizer with no noticeable reaction. Within a day or two of the Moderna I was covered everywhere. I had a very mild case up until those cursed vaccines.

on a side note. Have you been allergy tested? Bad allergies can be a trigger for psoriasis. I recommend getting tested for food allergies. I found my allergy to chicken to be a major trigger for my psoriasis and once I took it out of my diet with my suppressant my psoriasis has been clearing up. Though every time I ate chicken within 10-25 minutes I would have a flare and my psoriasis would puff up and get red and irritated. Hope you have better luck!
