ANY Suggestions On How To Get Rid Of Waxing - HEAVY, THICK SKIN ON HANDS AND FEET. Its Like Wearing Plastic Gloves, Can't Feel When Touch.

A MyPsoriasisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Its like no touch or feeling in finger tips or on bottom of feet. It feels like finger tips are numb, soles of feet are 1/4" thick. No moisture in hands or feet. I can skid across floor, hands like sandpaper.

I wonder if wet wraps can help? I only have petroleum jelly. I use long socks instead of plastic wraps. I wore them overnight with my pajamas on.
I have psoriasis on my legs. I thought it was on remission, but now I have flare ups. I'm still figuring out what caused it. I suspect that I have too much fried foods though.

For managing thick, heavy skin on your hands and feet due to psoriasis, consider the following tips from my knowledge base:

- Moisturizers: Use thick, hydrating creams and petroleum-based products like Vaseline to soften and protect the skin. Apply them at least once a day and at night after a warm bath or shower.
- Gloves or Plastic Wrap: After applying creams, cover your hands with gloves or plastic wrap to help the product absorb better.
- Nonsteroidal Topicals: Medications like tazarotene (Tazorac), calcipotriene (Dovonex), and VTAMA can be prescribed to manage thick psoriatic skin without causing skin thinning.
- Topical Calcineurin Inhibitors (TCIs): Tacrolimus (Protopic) and pimecrolimus (Elidel) can help control inflammation and can be used for longer periods.
- Gentle Hand-Washing: Use soap and water instead of alcohol-based sanitizers to avoid drying out your skin. Moisturize immediately after washing.

These steps can help manage the symptoms and improve the condition of your skin.
