Hi Brody, I was first diagnosed with PSA when I was 30. The jerk doctor told me I would be in a wheelchair by 40. I'm 62. no chair. I follow a clean, whole-food, anti-inflammatory diet. Low histamine and low Oxalate. As much organic as possible and no chemicals or plastics anywhere. It's a constant battle but I am not going down without a fight. The slow lowering of oxalate foods has been a big game changer. I battle the sugar and carb monsters but every day is a good day to start again. Detoxing is a priority to remove the toxins from the joints. I am an herbalist and I do not take any meds for anything. I use herbal medications only.

And believe me when I say that she is great with any problems, Brody! My OA will put me in a whell chair before the PsA will! I have taken out, breads, cakes, cookies-desserts, pasta, potatoes, rice and no box mixes. But it doesn't help my knees or shoulder. But still on certain meds. I have to deal with caring for hubby, all of the housework, bills, laundry, MDs, and most of the yard now. No time out but a few hours upstairs away from him.

Hi Brodey! I was too young to remember on my own only what mom and dad had told me. We did go to a skin MD. He did give me a Cortisone shot that made my Peditrician very upset. We did sun and salt water after that for years. Dead Sea Salt is good too. A UV lamp. Dad brought buckets home during the cold months. We enjoyed taking hot meals-spaghetti and meatballs or a full Thanksgiving dinner! By 17 in time for college I wa cleared completely. I did break out in spots when I got married. Womack Army Hospital die a biopsy and said that it was a form of psoriasis, but they went away too. In my 50s I stated with OA and PsA. PsA trigger by French Fries and Chips! OA onset with heavy moving things and gardening or washing floor or picking weeds on hands and knees. Still no replacements. I get shots. Being a caregiver who would run the house, feed the cats and take care of Dan? I only leave him alone for a few hours during the day for errands once a week. I did do the ambulance in the middle of the night and told him where to find me when he woke up. He is losing his marbles with his 3 strokes and swollen organs-cancer? But he still drives 20 over the limit and sometimes a turn on a red. I do not trust him alone. I have a GPS tracker in my car.

Certainly! Here are some details about the early signs, symptoms, and progression of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) based on my knowledge base:

Early Signs and Symptoms:
- Joint Symptoms: Pain and swelling in the fingers and toes, often referred to as dactylitis or "sausage digits."
- Fatigue and Stiffness: Common early symptoms include feeling unusually tired and experiencing stiffness.
- Enthesitis: Pain and swelling in the tendons and ligaments where they connect to the bones, commonly affecting the bottom of the feet (plantar fasciitis) and heels (Achilles tendinitis).

Progression:
- Early Psoriatic Arthritis: Many people experience joint pain or stiffness and may see their primary doctor for musculoskeletal issues in the years leading up to a PsA diagnosis.
- Moderate to Severe Psoriatic Arthritis: As PsA progresses, it can significantly impact the quality of life, making daily physical activities challenging.

Additional Information:
- Age of Onset: Symptoms typically appear between the ages of 30 and 50.
- Development Timeline: PsA often develops 10 to 20 years after the onset of psoriasis, but it can also present before skin symptoms appear.
- Diagnosis: Most people are first examined by a dermatologist or internist before being referred to a rheumatologist for specialized care.

For more detailed personal stories and experiences, you might consider visiting forums or support groups where individuals share their journeys with PsA.
