Hi Linda

HTMA stands for Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis. Worth reading up about.

Hugh, with respect, your opinion is one I have come across many times under different apparently medical names, none of which under scrutiny are any more than theory and conjecture. Trying to lessen symptoms by changing your diet is more than worth a try but a diet change for the better is good anyway and will benefit your general well-being, which may help your Psoriasis. An eliimination diet will not cure anything first shot but will in time with trial and error eliminate any underlying food allergies or detrimental effects of certain food stuffs linked to your condition or not. It is also safer, cheaper and easier to do,

It takes determination, patience and is not an instant overnight 'cure'. I think that is why the medical profession can't embrace approaches like this. Yes, they'll tell you to eat a good diet but its normally a one size fits all recommendation which is fundamentally wrong. Also most patients want to walk out of the surgery with a prescription which alleviates symptoms within hours if not days.

In addition to the skin improvements the mineral balancing protocol appears to have ridden me of the following complaints:-
- IBS
- Frozen shoulder
- Golfers elbow
- Plantar fascitis
- sausage finger
- raised->high blood pressure
- acid reflux which had caused Barratts oesophagus (pre-cancerous state in food pipe). I am no longer taking medication for this (omeprazole) given I no longer have symptoms and endoscope says I no longer have Barratts.

My conclusion from this was that poor diet, lifestyle over an extended period of time and heavy metal build up in my organs and tissues was causing a variety of inflammatory responses. Psoriasis was more recent and only flared about 6 years ago aged 56.

By (a) changing to an all natural, balanced organic diet, (b) supplementing minerals based on hair test results and (c) chelating heavy metals, this has rebalanced my metabolism resulting in a massive reduction of those inflammatory responses.

This isn't an overnight cure, I have been 15 months at this, but I feel back in control of my health and see week by week, month by month gradual improvements. Gradual it may be but when I look back 15 months, the change is dramatic and completely drug free!

And I would not call this, "going into remission," as several people on various forums have referred to it, but using a treatment, DAILY, that keeps my skin from freaking out, and that I am quite certain were I to stop taking my vitamin/mineral supplements, my skin would return to the sorry state it was in this time last year.

I accept that this is likely a long-term, perhaps lifelong problem, but my plan to simply to keep taking my vitamins and minerals...forever, if necessary.
