Does Anyone Have Fibromyalgia Along With Their Psoriatic Arthritis?
I've recently been diagnosed with PA. I have a lot of muscle pain: upper thighs, buttocks, biceps. I wonder if this is Fibromyalgia which I read sometimes goes along with PA. Anyone have similar symptoms or know anything about this?
Before I was diagnosed with PSA I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by 3 different doctors. Then when I found a rheumatologist he said that fibromyalgia mimics PSA so Iām not sure. However, I have the same pain as you plus.
I have registered with EpicGenetics Lab and will be having a blood test for Fibromyalgia. I didn't know there was such a thing. I have to be off Methotrexate for a month before the blood test can be done. I'll post when I get results.
Yes, it is possible to have both fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis (PsA). I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 10 years prior to PSA and AS. I ended up at the Mayo clinic saying the fibro had morphed to something worse. Because I did not have skin disease or changes in bloodwork I left 9 days later being told I had Fibro. I gave up on doc's for several years. Finally I found a good rheumatologist that thought out of the box. He diagnosed the PSA and AS. Long journey but at least I have a diagnosis.
