Scalp psoriasis can indeed be challenging to manage. Here are some treatment options and strategies that might help:

Treatment Options:
- Medications Applied to the Skin: Topical corticosteroids, creams, lotions, ointments, or shampoos.
- Medicated Shampoos: Over-the-counter options containing ingredients like zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide, or ketoconazole.
- Scale Softeners: To help remove scales.
- Injections: For more severe cases.
- Light Treatments: Phototherapy can be effective.
- Oral Medications: Systemic treatments for severe cases.

Tips for Managing:
- Rotate Treatments: To prevent the scalp from getting used to one ingredient and to avoid side effects.
- Avoid Scratching: Scratching can lead to more inflammation and potential infection.
- Consult Your Doctor: Regular check-ups to ensure proper care and adjustments to your treatment plan.

Common Challenges:
- Thick Plaques: Harder to treat under hair.
- Hair Loss: Often temporary but distressing.
- Daily Activities: Can interfere with daily life and self-esteem.

Over-the-Counter Products:
- Low-Strength Medicated Shampoos: For mild cases, these can provide relief.

Personal Experiences:
- Frustration with Flaking and Hair Loss: Many people share similar struggles and find it hard to manage the symptoms.

It's important to find the right combination of treatments that work for you, and this can take time. Always consult with your healthcare provider to tailor the best approach for your condition.

I use the organic shampoo bar from Oh My Garden. turns out liquid shampoos have so much added chemical junk it was doing more damage than good. It sits in that plastic bottle absorbing chemicals from the minute it's packaged. It can kill off follicles and cause hair loss
