How Long Does It *generally* Take For Your Insurance To Approve Injections?
My derm is recommending Skyrizi. I've been told Skyrizi will call me directly.
This generally comes down to your Doctor doing a proper request to insurance company for biologics (proof of need) and that all other cheaper meds have failed or your condition is bad enough to warrant biologics without using other drugs first…. My insurance never questions my Rheumatologist but does the dermatologist Im not sure if this is because derm shouldn’t diagnose PSA … Just guessing on that.
Abbvie is the answer for skyrizi without the help who can afford it
Gini, I agree with the comment above. Usually, comes down to your doctor’s staff to work diligently to obtain a prior authorization..
I don’t know if skyrizi has some payment assistance plan. If so, you still need your insurance to approve it.
Hopefully you’ll hear from your doctor soon
I have gone 5 months now with no approval for my meds. I have basically given up trying to jump through Anthem’s hoops. Worst insurance ever!
It took my dermatologist/doctor several weeks to get my insurance company to approve the prior authorization for skyrizi when it was first prescribed for me. Re: payment assistance plan, AbbVie, the manufacturer, does have payment assistance, which has been great for me as my co-pay even with insurance has on some occasions been more than $5,000 for a single dose.
